September 5-6th 2025: Klondike Road Relay

The Klondike Road Relay begins in Skagway and has participants run through the night and into the next day. The 175-kilometre relay is broken into 10 legs, varying in distance from nine-25.6 kilometres. It starts at sea level, ascends to an elevation of 1,004 metres in the first two legs, and descends to 610 metres toward the finish line. Racers will travel through the traditional territories of the Carcross Tagish First Nation, Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and experience challenging terrain and awe-inspiring scenery. Because the race happens in the north, participants should be prepared for several scenarios. The night sky may be clear and starry while the northern lights dance, but don’t be surprised if it’s foggy, rainy, or even snowing. Rest assured, historically the race has ended on a sunny, crisp fall day in the Yukon’s capital. Whether you are running, walking or a youth participant, everyone is welcome to participate in the Klondike Road Relay. For those that need more time, you can complete our modified course from Carcross to Whitehorse.

The ferry uses the Chilkoot Indian Association (CIA) dock for our departures from Haines. Please make contact with our representative so they can confirm you are on the sailing. For your safety and those of other passengers, please do not wait for the vessel on the floating dock. Passengers will need to offload and move up the ramp before you can board the vessel.

Parking
There is free road side parking and a reserved HSFF parking lot available at the CIA dock. Please be mindful of reserved areas and time limited parking as noted by the posted signs.
